October 2019 – EDCTP management training in Gabon
EDCTP Director of Finance and Administration, Abdoulie Barry, and the Director of International Cooperation Europe, Dr Ole Olesen, have conducted a financial and project management training for finance and project management personnel of EDCTP-funded projects, based in West Africa. The training took place in Libreville, Gabon on 17 and 18 October 2019.
The main objectives of this workshop are to help participants improve their understanding of:
- key financial management terms and principles
- the internal control and risk management implications of some of the decisions they take
- the importance of putting in place sound financial management systems
and to equip participants with skills and knowledge on how to effectively and efficiently manage collaborative projects with multiple international collaborators.
Ms Madikona Dosso, chief accountant at PAC-CI, Côte d’Ivoire, has participated to this training.
