December 2019 – CICM at the Research exhibition in Antananarivo

2 and 3 December, 2019

The Malagasy economy is characterized by a very high unemployment rate (20% of young graduates are unemployed and 8 out of 10 active Malagasy people are underemployed) and by a very low average GDP growth rate, estimated at 2.6% between 2012 and 2016. Research, through technological progress and the jobs it generates, has a fundamental role to play in economic growth.

In this perspective, the Université d’Antananarivo (UA), the Groupement des Entreprises de Madagascar (GEM), the Fivondronan’ny Mpandraharaha Malagasy (FIVMPAMA) and the SIM (Syndicat des Industries de Madagascar) in collaboration with the Bureau international du Travail (BIT), have joined forces to organize an event, the Salon de la Recherche au service de l’Economie et de l’Emploi (SREE), which brings together the worlds of employment and research.
