November 2019 – EDCTP management training in South Africa
EDCTP Director of Finance and Administration, Abdoulie Barry, and the Director of International Cooperation Europe, Dr Ole Olesen, conducted a financial and project management training for finance and project management personnel of EDCTP-funded projects, based in Southern Africa. The training took place in Johannesburg, South Africa on 21 and 22 November 2019.
The main objectives of this workshop are to help participants improve their understanding of:
- key financial management terms and principles
- the internal control and risk management implications of some of the decisions they take
- the importance of putting in place sound financial management systems
and to equip participants with skills and knowledge on how to effectively and efficiently manage collaborative projects with multiple international collaborators.
Teams from Centre d’Infectiologie Charles Mérieux and Institut Pasteur Madagascar, and teams from UCT have participated to this training.
