The Barcelona Tuberculosis Research Unit (UITB) is a unit focused on scientific research and the dissemination of information related to tuberculosis (TB) created in 1995. Its priority objective is the production of relevant scientific knowledge on control, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of TB based on multicenter and multidisciplinary studies (clinicians-microbiologists-epidemiology and public health), and on TB-HIV / AIDS-immigration relationships.

Every year, the UITB organizes the “International Conference on TB” in Barcelona (Spain).

In this 2020 edition, Dr. Juan Ambrosioni (co-investigator in the IDIBAPS-HCB) was invited to present the INTENSE-TBM project.

Dr. José M Miro (co-investigator in the IDIBAPS-HCB) presented the Advances in the prevention and pharmacological treatment of COVID-19.
